Healing the past to facilitate the future

GER-Rwanda and CFOR are facilitating interactions among young people affected by historical background and the wounds of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi. Interactions help through healing the past to facilitate our future. Our interventions target young people who are still struggling to overcome and heal from the effect of the 1994 genocide against the Tutsi and collective conflicts around the region. The holistic approaches we use help these people to process the history through joint economic initiatives of agroecology activities with the aim of improving their relations and lives. We are currently working with 250 youth from six districts of Bugesera, Gasabo, Kicukiro, Rwamagana, Ruhango and Musanze. These young people were trained to help others as resourceful persons and agents of change to scale up these interventions in their respective communities.
